Les autorités du Bénin ont affirmé dimanche avoir déjoué une tentative de coup d'État contre le président Patrice Talon, qui a pris la parole en fin de journée pour annoncer que la situation était "totalement sous contrôle". Une intervention de l'armée béninoise, avec l'aide du Nigeria voisin, a permis de mettre en échec un groupe de militaires mutins, qui avaient annoncé à la télévision nationale avoir pris le pouvoir et destitué le président.
