Top doctor dies of Ebola

Authorities say a top Sierra Leone doctor treating Ebola victims in the country has died from the disease. The death came amid the largest outbreak of the haemorrhagic disease in history, deaths blamed on the disease in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and also Nigeria. The disease has no vaccine and no specific treatment, with a fatality rate of at least 60 per cent. An American doctor in Liberia was fighting for his life after also contracting Ebola, and authorities have begun health screening at airports and an airline has suspended flights after a man who took several flights died of the disease.
