US: US concerned about torture, detention in Mauritania
New York, US (PANA) - The US government is gravely concerned about the harsh prison terms imposed on 20 individuals who were arrested following the 29 June riots in Nouakchott, Mauritinia, due to deficiencies in legal representation of the defendants and the government's evidence presented against the accused, a statement from the US State Department said.
