11:30 p.m. (2030GMT, 4:30 p.m. EDT) U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned the Islamic extremist attack on a college in northeastern Kenya which killed 147 plus the four attackers. Ban's office said that he called for those responsible to be swiftly brought to justice and reiterated his solidarity with the Kenyan government and people in their efforts to prevent and counter terrorism and violent extremism.
