UN: Malians begin reconstruction of damaged Timbuktu mausoleums
New York, US (PANA) - The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) says local masons in Timbuktu, Mali, on Friday started to lay down the first earthen bricks to reconstruct World Heritage mausoleums damaged when radical Islamists occupied the northern part of the country in 2012.
