New Russian bomber spotted in Mali as Wagner Group leaves the country
After months of speculation, satellite imagery analysed by the FRANCE 24 Observers team confirms that the Russian Su-24M tactical bomber has arrived in Mali. This aircraft is more powerful than those previously used by Russian paramilitaries supporting the Malian army. Its deployment also signals the withdrawal of the Wagner Group from the country, announced on June 6, in favour of the Africa Corps group which reports directly to the Russian Ministry of Defence.
